MAINTAINING Your Real Estate Sales Associate License

YOUR INITIAL LICENSING PERIOD

Prior to your first license renewal, FREC requires that new sales associate licensees complete post-license education approved by the state. Forty-five (45) classroom hours of post-licensing education is required. If you do not complete this requirement prior to your first renewal expiration date, your sales license will be automatically cancelled. This rule requires both active AND inactive licensees to complete the course prior to the initial renewal of the license. NOTE: Any licensee who has a 4-year degree in real estate from an accredited institution of higher education is exempt from the post-licensing education requirements.

45 HOUR POST-LICENSE COURSE FOR SALES ASSOCIATES - $199.00
(Weekend - Evenings - Weeday classes offered)

SUBSEQUENT LICENSING PERIODS
In keep your sales associate’s licensing active and current, you must complete 14 hours of continuing education within each 2 year licensing period PRIOR to submitting your renewal application. The state DBPR will mail you a notice approximately 60 days prior to the expiration of your license.

The 14 hour class will cover updates in Florida real estate law, as well as the most current changes in principles and practices of real estate. The course can be taken either online or in the classroom. The classroom course covers the required updates and materials in a two (2) day program with no final exam.

Needless to say, the classroom format offers you an incredible opportunity to learn by participating actively with other experienced licensees by sharing experiences, “war-stories,” posing hypotheticals to one another, and learning how others, individually & collectively, would handle similar challenges or problems encountered in their actual work experience. Student comments reflect that they appreciate the experience and additional knowledge imparted when attending the “live” continuing education classes. Perhaps you may consider the cost/benefit value of the “additional $50” tuition as an asset to your career!
